1Background. The National Memorial Arboretum will host this commemorative event on Wed 14 Aug 19, beginning at 1400 hrs. The event is being led by RBL. Those holders of the General Service Medal (with the Northern Ireland clasp) are invited to attend. Bids for tickets must be submitted through Associations. The RBL will not accept individual bids. The Rifles Association has written to Regional Offices and Associations, kindly offering to submit individual and Association bids via The Rifleman’s Association. As an Association we have registered our interest to participate again in this annual Cenotaph March Pass. Based on the attendance from last year we have bid for 30 attendees. Whilst this may seem a small number it is in line with previous years attendances. Those who have taken part on a frequent basis advise that would be attendees need to appreciate that there are long periods of standing around on cordoned areas. Those who wish to attend are to email their intention to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . This email address will come to the Chairman, until such time as we appoint a new Secretary.

The funeral of the late George Hughes will take place on Friday 7th June at Christchurch Church, Ross Road, Nr Coleford GL16 7NE at 1230hrs. It is not far from Berry Hill. For those attending please look at the Church website which gives full details of where it is located and driving directions.

The Cremation Service will be held at the Forest of Dean Crematorium, Yew Tree Brake, Speech House Road, Cinderford, GL14 3HU at 1400hrs'.

To illustrate how Mailchimp is spreading the word of the Association to its world-wide members here is one example. We have received news from Matthew Gavin who now lives in Nagano, Japan. He served with A Company Rifle Volunteers and served with 1 RGBW on Op Telic 4 in 2004.
