It is with great sadness that I have to report the recent death of Major (Retd) Peter Martin MBE.

Peters funeral is due to take place at Fradley Crematorium 24th October 2018 at 1230hrs.

VC Paver - Private Francis Miles VC

For those not in the picture please be aware that the ‘VC paver’ commemorating the action by Private Francis Miles VC, 1/5th Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment will be unveiled at Clearwell, Forest of Dean, on Tuesday 23rd October 2018. Major Paul Jacques - A thanksgiving service

Major Paul Jacques - A thanksgiving service will be held at Chalgrove (Oxfordshire) on Saturday 13th October beginning at 2.30 pm. Paul Jacques served with 5th Glosters (V) from 1960 until the Battalion was disbanded in 1967; thereafter he continued to serve elsewhere.

Cheltenham Gloucestershire and Racing Remember Ticket Application

As a commemoration to the contribution made by the soldiers and population of Gloucestershire during WW1, the Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff of Gloucestershire would like to invite you to Gloucestershire and Racing Remembers at the November Race Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse to honour those who fought and were wounded or gave their lives as well as those that supported the Home Front in Gloucestershire during this 100th Anniversary of the Armistice.

The event will take place as part of the race meeting and will include substantial static displays as well as an Act of Remembrance and a parade accompanied by the Waterloo Band of the RIFLES. The parade will include 50+ Veterans from the Glosters, RGBW and Rifles in Glosters WW1 uniforms supported by both Regular and Reserve Soldiers of the Rifles along side cadets from all three Services and CCFs.

The event also included a VIP lunch, details of which are attached below. Please support Combat Stress and the High Sheriff's Charity and attend the event. Please also attend the lunch which should be a splendid event with some VVIPs. The event is a full race meeting and is expected to attract over 20,000 people as well as being televised by ITV.

Death of 23262661 LCpl Denis Atkinson

Death of 23262661 LCpl Denis Atkinson

Sadly we have to inform you of the recent death of LCpl Denis Atkinson. Denis enrolled into the Wiltshire Regiment in 1955 and served in the UK and Cyprus. His main role, was a regimental radio operator within the Signals Platoon.

His funeral will be held tomorrow 30th August at 1140hrs at the Walton Crematorium, Chester Road, Warrington WA4 6TB should you wish to attend.

Our sincere condolences go out to his wife Barbra and family.
