The Death of WO2 (TQMS) Martin Curtin, Glosters

Ray Wells writes>>>

It is with a heavy heart that I do my duty in reporting the passing of 23786593 Wo2 (TQMS) Martin Curtin on the 10 October 2020 at 0330 Bst. Martin was cremated on Tuesday 13 October 2020 at 1000 hrs, Martin was an ex Gloster Soldier. long term personal friend and a very loyal and popular member of 1st Battalion the Gloucestershire Regiment 28th/XIst,

He served from 1966 to 1989. Martin left the Battalion in Berlin 1989. After the loss of his first wife Sylvia whilst working in Hong Kong Martin married Elvie a Philipno lady. On retiring he moved just North of the City of Manilla to raise a rice paddy farm and support his new wife's family. Over the last 5 years he has suffered from a debilitating dementia disease and ongoing infection problems. He passed away with his Philipino family at his side. Unfortunately his children Tracey currently in USA and John in Australia were unable to be with him due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions. Martins ashes will be returned to the Island of Jersey by Tracey at a later date when travel restrictions permit. It is hoped to have a few moments to look at past photos and an opportunity to remember Martin at the next Reunion? Ray Wells
