The Death of Percy Franklin - Glosters

 

Percy Franklin a WW 2 veteran who served with The Gloucestershire Regiment and was a recipient of the Chevalier de l'Ordre Nationale de la Legion d'Honneur, passed away on 14 January 2021. Our sympathies and condolences to the family.

The Death of Major Robert Bewell - Glosters

 

We have just learnt of the passing of Major Robert Bewell, who died on 13 January 2021. There will be a cremation service 8 February. The Death of Pte Elvin Foster - Glosters

 

Belated we have learnt of the death of 22371696 Pte Elvin Foster on 27 October 2020. Elvin served with 1 Glosters from 1950 to 1953. His funeral took place in Essex on 27 November 2020. His nephew recounts the Elvin was on of the fe Glosters that evaded captivity after the Battle of the River Imjin in April 1951.

The Death of Ray Fodey DERR

 

Norman Minty has passed on the following message from Sharon Fodey that her husband, Ray Fodey has passed away after bravely fighting prostate cancer over the last four years. Unfortunately it spread to his spine and Ray passed away on Christmas Day at 2200 hours with Sharon by his side. R. I. P. Ray always a loyal friend - Norman.

The Regimental Association and All Farmers Boys extend their condolences to Sharon and her family.

24294513 C/Sgt. Michael (Mick) Osowiecki. Served 1Glosters 1972 - 1994 Died 3rd November 2020

 

We learn from his daughter, Maria the sad news that her father, C/Sgt Michael Osowiecki died suddenly on the 3rd of November 2020. Mick as he was best known served his full 22 years with 1 Glosters between 1972 and 1994. Up until the time of his death he was living in Longton, Stoke on Trent. Our thoughts at this time are with his wife Christine, daughters Maria and Natalie, family and friends.
