The death of Lieutenant Colonel C L Tremellen.

          

 

I have just been informed by Colonel M R W C Vernon-Powell of the death of Lieutenant Colonel C L Tremellen.

Colin Tremellen was commissioned into the Royal Berkshire Regiment and served in the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment before going on to command 1 WESSEX.

A service of remembrance for Colin will be held at St Julian's Church, Wellow, BA2 8RE at 1200 hrs on Friday 17th Jan 2020. This will be followed by a 'scratch luncheon' in the church.

The Death of Colonel Desmond Redding

       

Message received by the Chairman from Colonel Vernon-Powell “it is with great sadness that I write to inform you Desmond Redding died peacefully last night (16 December) at home. This was expected and a relief to his suffering”. Colonel Desmond Redding was commissioned into the Royal Berkshire Regiment serving and then serving in 1 DERR. He went on to command 2 WESSEX. Further details will be provided when released by the family.

Funeral Arrangements for Patricia (Trish) Wakelin

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that Trish died in the early hours of Monday morning, 2nd December, after a tough battle against cancer.

A funeral service for family and close friends will take place at the Salisbury Crematorium, 1 Barrington Road, Salisbury SP1 3JB at 10.45am on Friday 13th December.

This will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service in St Augustine's Church in Upton Lovell, Nr Warminster, Wiltshire BA12 0JW at 2.30pm to which all are invited.

A reception will then take place in a heated marquee in the garden of Richard and Belinda Southwell directly after the service. The garden is immediately adjacent to the church.

Family flowers only. Donations are invited in memory of Trish towards the Salvation Army and St Augustine's Church through I.N. Newman Ltd, Funeral Directors, Griffin House, 55 Winchester Street, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP6 1AX or tel : 01722 413136

The Death of L/Cpl Chris 'Ginge' Whittall, 1 Glosters

We have been informed of the death on 23rd November 2019 of L/Cpl Chris 'Ginge' Whittall aged 75 who served with 1 Glosters 1962-68 serving in Cyprus and Swaziland.
His funeral will take place at 12.15 on Friday 13th December at Cheltenham crematorium and afterwards at Cheltenham Town Football club premiere suite on Whaddon road.
If any Glosters are able to attend it would be much appreciated by his family.

The Death of Stephen Shaw, 1DERR

It is with deepest regret and sadness that we that Stevie Stephen Farmers Boy Shaw passed away suddenly this morning (25 Nov) from an Aortic aneurysm in Leeds General infirmary at approx 0245 hrs. Stevie served with 1DERR and the AGC (SPS) with whom he served with for half of his 22 plus years
