The Death of CSGT Richard Martin - DERR


We received the news that Richard Martin, serving with 7 Rifles at Brock Barracks as an NRPS CQMS has passed away. Richard served with 1 DERR, during which time he served as a C/Sgt PSI with 1 Wessex in Andover. Richard subsequently with 2 RGBW, RRV and then 7 Rifles.

His funeral will be on the 26th Oct (Monday) at Charlton Park Crematorium Andover Hampshire, at 10 30.

The Death of Major David Holdsworth


Major David James Holdsworth died peacefully at home after a long illness, on October 6th, 2020. aged 91. The last surviving officer of the 'Glorious Glosters' to have fought at the Battle of the Imjin in Korea, 1951. Joined the FCO in 1967, serving in Hong Kong, Thailand, Burma, Singapore, Brunei, and Israel. Beloved husband of Marie-Luise, father, step-father and grandfather to 22. His wit and charm will be greatly missed by all. Private funeral.

The Death of CSGT Terry (Sid) Boon - Glosters

Sadly we have to report the passing of former C/Sgt Terry (Sid) Boon, who passed away on 1st October 2020. Terry and his brother served with 1 Glosters, Terry (Sid) recorded as having served with the Anti Tank Platoon amongst his many appointments. In Roy Evans words "Terry was a top man, a good friend to all and will be missed". Condolences to Rosa and the family at this time.

The Death Of Ron Warren Glosters

Lawrence Whittle, Secretary of the City of Bristol Branch informs us of the sad passing of former 23400370 Pte.Ron Warren who served 1 Glosters 1957/58. B Coy and HQ Coy. Ron was a keen member of the Bristol Branch regularly attending all meetings and events. Ron Died on the 21st September 2020.
