The Death of Lt Col Ron Coleman, Glosters

Lt Col Ronald Ernest Coleman JP: Lesley Bradshaw has reported the passing of Lt Col Ron Coleman on 1st May aged 91, who served, we believe, with 2nd Bn Glosters in Jamaica but was far better known for his outstanding service to the Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force where he rose to become the Commandant and provide them with excellent leadership.

Ron Coleman was also a fantastic supporter of the Regimental museum at Customs House, being he Treasurer for more than 20 years.

Our condolences to his widow Eileen and their daughter Beverley.

The death of Steve Milner 1 Glosters

Reported today(26 Apr 2020) is the sad news that 24373190 Steve Milliner, 1 Glosters, has passed away. We send our condolences to his family and friends. We learn that it is not covid related. No other information is available at this time.

The attached photograph shows Steve Milliner sat down in the front rank far left and it was taken in Canad in 1976. We pass our condolences to the Milliner family for their loss

The Death of Brian Goucher, Royal Berkshire Regiment

Brian Goucher, Royal Berkshire Regiment, passed away aged 82, on Tuesday 14 April. Brian had been ill for several months and in the last week had been readmitted to a local hospice where he had hoped to spend his last days. Details of the funeral, which in the current situation will be limited to family only is not known at this stage

The Death of Alan Cottrell DERR

On 8th April 2020 Alan Cottrell passed away after a valiant fight against Covid-19. Alan was serving with 1 DERR in 1966 as a member of the Support Platoon with A Company in Clifton Barracks, Minden, West Germany. He was a stalwart supporter of the Regimental Association and a regular attender of the annual Cenotaph Parade at Whitehall. Once out of the Army he was the manager of a local football team in the Swindon area in his spare time, as well as being a passionate supporter of "The Robins".
