The Death of 14187880 Pte. Denis R (Archie) Coram.

The recent death on 25th September 2019 of Mr Denis Roy (Archie) Coram, aged 91. Known in Exeter as the 'Singing Bus Conductor'

Archie was born on 17th July 1928 and is listed on the Imjin Roll as 14187880 Private D R Coram, he served in C Company, 1st Battalion The Gloucestershire Regiment, at the Battle of the Imjin River; he was subsequently captured and became a Prisoner of War.

The funeral of Archie will be held at Exeter Crematorium, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 6EU on Thursday 10th October, beginning at 1300hrs. Members of the Somerset branch will be in attendance with a wreath and supported by his local RBL and members of the Devonshire and Dorset Regimental Association.

The Death of Frank Cottam, Glosters

You may wish to be aware of the recent death of Mr Frank Cottam MBE, aged 93. Frank, as a regular army sergeant, served in A Company, 1st Battalion The Gloucestershire Regiment, at the Battle of the Imjin River. He was subsequently taken prisoner.

You may wish to be aware of the recent death of Mr Henry James (Jim) Brown. Jim saw action in Malaya and brief service in Hong Kong before being posted to Korea where, shortly before the Battle of the Imjin River, he joined 1st Battalion The Gloucestershire Regiment.

The Death of Cpl George 'Sailor' Godsall served 1 Glosters

Cpl George 'Sailor' Godsall served 1 Glosters from 1957 until the 70's Died 25th July 2019. He was nicknamed 'Sailor' having served in the Royal Navy during the Korean War.
