The Death of John Turner, Glosters

John Frederick Turner who died on 17 October 2019. John served with the Gloucestershire Regiment during the 1950's and 960's reaching the rank of Sergeant. The news was passed to us by his nephew. Details of the funeral which will take place in Colchester are still awaited. Scott McBryde is in contact with a former Gloucestershire Regiment member living in East Anglia in the hope of ensuring Regimental representation at the funeral, once details are released.

We are notified by Clive Tucker of the passing of his father, John William Tucker. on the 29th September 2019. John served 1Glosters 1954 -1956. Date of the funeral is 25th October venue and further details of the funeral are yet to be announced.

The Death of 14187880 Pte. Denis R (Archie) Coram.

The recent death on 25th September 2019 of Mr Denis Roy (Archie) Coram, aged 91. Known in Exeter as the 'Singing Bus Conductor'

Archie was born on 17th July 1928 and is listed on the Imjin Roll as 14187880 Private D R Coram, he served in C Company, 1st Battalion The Gloucestershire Regiment, at the Battle of the Imjin River; he was subsequently captured and became a Prisoner of War.

The funeral of Archie will be held at Exeter Crematorium, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 6EU on Thursday 10th October, beginning at 1300hrs. Members of the Somerset branch will be in attendance with a wreath and supported by his local RBL and members of the Devonshire and Dorset Regimental Association.
