Dedication of a Headstone for Pte Henry John Waylen

On 20th October 2018 our Secretary, Scott McBryde, paraded the Stroud Valleys Standard at Tewkesbury Cemetery for the Dedication of a Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone for Pte Henry John Waylen who was a member of the Territorial Force who fought with 1st/5th Glosters in France and subsequently joined one of the two Glosters battalions that went to Macedonia. He contracted tuberculosis in Salonika, returned home and died in1917. His grave at Tewkesbury cemetery was never property marked and Tewkesbury Historical Society alerted the CWGC who made a headstone which was installed by his grave in May of this year.
