THE POPPY OF HONOUR 2018 DEDICATION AT WINCANTON ON 6TH OCTOBER 2018

Scott McBryde travelled to Wincanton on Saturday 6th to represent The Association in the Parade through Wincanton for the Unveiling and Dedication Ceremony of the Poppy of Honour sculpture erected in Cale Park. Sealed within the glass sculpture were 1.1m poppies dedicated to every one of the British and Commonwealth servicemen/women killed or missing in action in World War I

Those organisations who marched in the Parade formed up outside Wincanton’s Memorial Hall, and proceeded through the town to Cale Park where they formed up for the Unveiling and Dedication Ceremony.

It was a cold, wet day but there was a fantastic turnout from the town to honour this event. The Poppy of Honour sculpture will eventually go on Nationwide Tour.
