The Devizes Reunion took place in Devizes on Sunday 03 June 2018 with the service in St Johns Church followed by lunch in the town hall.
The Honorary Chaplain, The Venerable Alan Jeans, Archdeacon of Sarum who, with the organist and the choir of St John The Baptist led a strong and much appreciated service.
Afterwards, 84 members and guest sat down to lunch in the town hall. This was an increase in numbers due to the diligent work of Norman Minty and Ian Knight.
Before lunch was served the Chairman Colonel Mike Cornwell presented Sue Nelmes with a RGBW Regimental Broach for her outstanding work and contribution to the Regimental Association.
The Devizes Reunion for 2019 will take place on
Sunday 02 June.
The Salisbury Reunion took place over the weekend 7/8 July. 45 members and guest attended the Dinner and Dance at the South Wilts Golf Club and 80 attended the Drumhead Service, parade and Lunch in the Wardrobe garden on the Sunday.
The Reverend Mark Christian led the worship in the Drumhead Service. Five Standards were laid on the drums. General Sir Kevin O’Donoghue KCB, CBE. read the lesson and all RGBW formerRegimental wreaths were laid in the Garden of Remembrance.
Due to the very hot and humid temperatures it was decided to cancel the March Past.
The 80 comrades, wives and guests then sat down to a truly appreciated buffet lunch, with the Shrewton Silver Band playing during the lunch.
The 2019 Salisbury Reunion has been cancelled due to the DERR@60 taking place on Hayling Island 7 – 10 June. The Reunion will take place again in 2020. The committee has decided the Reunion will be a one, day event, that being the Drumhead Service and Lunch on the Sunday. This is due to a fall in numbers attending the Saturday evening
Dinner and Dance.
The date for the 2020 Reunion is yet to be confirmed.
