From Dolores Hewitt Edwards via messenger
This is my husband Graham (Bob) Edwards in 1958. From 1956 to 1958 he served in Cyprus with the First Battalion Wiltshire Regiment. He would like to be in touch with old comrades who came from Gloucester and environs. they were John Curtis, Les Crowther, Ron Davis (Davies), Ron Mansell, and Danny Thomas. If anybody knows any of these people please can you let me know. They are probably in their early eighties now. Graham is 81. Here's hoping!
As a Regimental Association we have bid for and been allocated 30 places at the Annual Whitehall Cenotaph Parade, which for 2019 takes place on Sunday 10 November.
To date I have been asked by the following 13 if they may apply for a place:
The photos and video of the DERR@60 Reunion is almost ready for distribution, over 3000 photos were taken during the weekend so it has taken some time to weed out duplications and blurred images, the video is just about complete regarding the editing and should be ready soon, all those that have pre ordered the video will be getting it soon. We will be informing everyone of how to access the photos via a Google link once it has all been set up and ready to go.
Please be patient we are sure that you will be delighted with the production once you are able to access the link, we would hope to release the link by the end of July.
The photos have now been uploaded to Google under a new DERR google account. A slight change in the way that the photos are now hosted - Now using Google Drive rather than Google Photos. There was a technical reason for this but it’s the same nett result in the way people can view and download either all the photos in one large batch, download just one days’ worth or pick and choose individual photos to download.
The link for you to copy and paste into your email to everyone is the following – https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ete2HyfLYWnKbPZMkRUguce9DQOFGgZ6
There is no password, nor is a google account or any sign in required – It’s a simple case of click the link and browse the photos which are contained in three folders labelled Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
This latest missive from the Royal British Legion has really caused confusion. We had bid for the association and the 13 members who had put their names in through Bill Sherman should have received and invitation already from the RBL via the Association Chairman
For a belt and braces measure we would suggest you follow the link and re-register You never know you may even get a ticket for the wife.
